Long Lost Greetings

Hello all!
Well now...I think I've officially broken my previous record of "time-spent-neglecting-the-blog" by a long shot. ;}

In my humble defense...I was quite preoccupied with a shocking diagnoses concerning my health and subsequently indisposed following surgery in mid-May to remedy the thankfully removable threat.

So now that I am finally physically and mentally recovered, I would most love to return to this most special space to share my inconsequential thoughts, grumblings, etc.

So to start off this latest Genesis, a sweetly sad reminder that truly fresh starts are maybe something we may never get this side of heaven:

The Better Ones & An Ending

As it has been nearly forever and a day since I have last visited here with intention to post, I thought I should finish the year out responsibly. Thankfully, a few rolls of recently developed film from my summer pet project {actual film photography via my vintage/refurbished minolta XG 1 camera}, I have a bit more meat this time than the typical literary blurb and corresponding image.
Be gently dear reader...I am still as of yet a freshling to this film venture...

Here are the better of my first fruits:

'Til next year, friends...

A Word From ~ Oscar Wilde

"Still, I am conscious now that behind all this beauty, satisfying though it may be, there is some spirit hidden of which the painted forms and shapes are but modes of manifestations, and it is with this spirit that I desire to become in harmony."

sweet ~ simple ~ sadness

...and just when you think you're finally a big girl and you can handle the world...
...you find out that a Luna Moths only lives 7 days after emerging from its cocoon...
...and it kinda just breaks your heart...

The Musicbox

*~*~*
I freed a song from a dusty box
Now a fitting vessel I seek
Feathers made of steel, a key with no lock
Who knew braille could create melody?

To be Interested in the Changing Seasons...

Farewell to this drowsy, damp, and hazy winter break.

Please forgive my cliche, badly focused photo that attempts to express my deep
sentimental feelings on the matter.

The Stuff of Childhood || Thumbelina

Over the holiday break, while spending time with loved ones, I had a chance to relive my young childhood by re-watching the animated tale of Thumbelina.
And yes, I did spend the whole rest of the day sneaking up and singing "Let Me Be Your Wings" in many a family member's ear.
I challenge anyone to watch said movie with out doing the same at least once.

Here are a few stills I caught just for funnzies.
Enjoy the artsy, grainy, kitchy mess:

Historicatin' - Peeping into the Past

In an effort to avoid studying for my Geology test, I've updated my other blog, sharing with the world a summarized yet very interesting history of one German Atlas statue.

And yes dear reader, there is fire and suspect Nazis involvement entailed.
So be a doll and check that out if you have the time.
Who knows...You might learn something. ;}

Dull, Washing

what if
the rain fell dull
washing
the color from the leaves
stealing
the fragrance of the grass
how sadder yet would earth so turn

i think God
had surely
got it right

Welcome Little One...

Say hello to my first born.
The first bloom from the first plant I have tended from seed.
Isn't it beautiful?

I'm half tempted to provide a satirical narrative of little one's
mundane life to get back at all those people on facebook.

Ah, but revenge is the Lord's business and what revenge
could be so biting that involved flowers? *smile*

Nest of my soul...

When I'm feeling reclusive and reflective...

When I'm feeling mysterious and bizarre...

When I'm feeling friendly and sweet...

When I'm feeling independent and grand...

When I'm feeling romantic and dreamy...
